Sparrowhawk Farm

The farm, with seventy acres attached, was bought by my mother's parents in the 1960s. As a child, granny Mole came to Nidderdale on holidays from her home in the east coast town of Hornsea. Back then it was a working farm and gran walked across the fields from their rented house to collect milk. Sparrowhawk Farm was a virtual ruin when gran and granddad bought it. They brought it back to life and chose to be buried at the nearby cemetry, promising to visit if we ever tried to sell the house!
